For those gamers or persons always running multiple programs, I think AMD Phenom X4 9950 Quad Core processor is great. My friend bought this AMD Phenom X4 9950 Quad Core Black Edition last week for 235$ and it really boots very fast as well as when it comes to running multiple programs. And so i decided to buy this Phenom X4 9950 next month. For those who don't know, Phenom X4 9950 Quad Core is currently the AMD's top of the line CPU, Slightly faster than Phenom X4 9850. It is socket AM2 plus. It is the Black Edition which i believe that means it has unlock multiplier for easier overclocking as far as i know. It's speed is 2.6 GHz and from what i read, a lot of people can 3.0 GHz this with ease.
The chip has a Max TDP of 140W so its gonna run pretty warm and you will need atleast 650watts or higher for your power supply. It runs on 4000 Mhz Hyper Trasport Bus and has 4 times 128 Kilobytes of a level 1 cache, 5 times 512 Kilobytes of a level 2 cache which is 2MB all together for all four cores and it also has 2MB of shared level 3 cache which is something that intel do not have. Phenom X4 9950 is manufactured using AMD's 65nm Silicon on Insulator process technologyThis AMD Phenom X4 9950 Quad Core Black Edition official supportfor a 2.0GHz memory controller and HT 3.0 frequency with Dual Dynamic Power Management technology.
